Wire Wall Systems

Tricon Precast offers an exclusive design for Temporary Wire Walls that allow for construction sequencing of an embanked roadway. It's a cost effective option, one that's ideal for phasing projects such as highway construction, temporary shoring, underground utility work and many other applications.

Temporary wire walls are meant to be sacrificial and are typically buried in the soil mass as the roadway embankment is built. Our Temporary Wire Wall System is design using brite basic welded wire for a 5 year usable life. It is comprised of standard Tricon Retained Soil Wall System™soil reinforcement mats connected to special wall facing mats. The facing mats are backed with 4 oz. filter fabric prior to placing the backfill material. Backfill material for a temporary wire wall typically consists of either crushed rock or cement stabilized sand the first 2' behind the facing mat with a specified compacted material beyond.

Tricon's Permanent Wire Walls, on the other hand, are frequently built in areas where a Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall is required but a concrete fascia is either not needed or not desired. Our Permanent Wire Wall System is designed for a 75 year service life minimum and is comprised of standard hot-dipped galvanized Retained Soil Wall System™ soil reinforcement mats attached to special hot-dipped galvanized permanent wire wall facing mats. The facing mats are backed with galvanized ¼" hardware cloth prior to placing the specified backfill material. Backfill material for the permanent wire walls typically consist of crushed rock for the first 2' behind the facing mat with a specified compacted material beyond.
